Yes, it is a very late kickoff for South African rugby supporters. The unusual starting time is because the fourth and final Test is being played at the M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, United States.

Springboks vs All Blacks match details

• Date: Saturday, 12 September 2026

• Kickoff: 11:00 PM SAST

• Venue: M&T Bank Stadium, Baltimore

• Competition: Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry

• South African broadcaster: SuperSport

The match should finish shortly before 1:00 AM on Sunday morning, depending on stoppages and halftime. Supporters planning to watch the entire game are therefore in for a properly late Saturday night.

A series decider in Baltimore

The Springboks head into the final match with a 2–1 lead in the four-Test series. South Africa won the third Test 29–24 at the FNB Stadium, giving the Bokke an opportunity to secure the series with another victory in Baltimore.

The All Blacks, meanwhile, need to win to draw the series 2–2. That should make the final Test especially intense, despite it being played at a neutral venue far away from the traditional South African and New Zealand rugby strongholds.

Holding a Springboks versus All Blacks Test in the United States is an unusual move, but it provides a major showcase for international rugby ahead of the 2031 Rugby World Cup in the USA.

Will you be staying awake until 1:00 AM to watch the Bokke, or is the 11:00 PM kickoff simply too late?
