The Quilter Nations Series continued this past weekend (15–16 November 2025) with another round of thrilling international rugby. Fans were treated to big hits, tactical battles, and a few upsets as northern and southern hemisphere teams clashed across Europe. From England’s statement victory at Twickenham to Argentina’s dramatic comeback in Edinburgh, here’s a full recap of the weekend’s action.

Saturday, 15 November 2025

England 33 – 19 New Zealand (Twickenham, London)
England claimed a statement win over the All Blacks, controlling territory and possession throughout. Ben Earl and Marcus Smith stood out as England’s pack overpowered New Zealand in the second half. It was England’s first home win over the All Blacks since 2012.

Scotland 24 – 33 Argentina (Murrayfield, Edinburgh)
Scotland led 17–9 at halftime but couldn’t hold off a spirited Argentinian fightback. The Pumas ran in three tries in the final 20 minutes, sealing a memorable away victory that showcased their resilience and counter-attacking threat.

Ireland 29 – 13 Australia (Aviva Stadium, Dublin)
Ireland continued their strong form with another composed win at home. Their forward pack dominated, and a pair of second-half tries from their centres put the game out of reach for the Wallabies.

France 40 – 22 Japan (Stade de France, Paris)
France bounced back from their defeat to South Africa with a convincing performance. Damian Penaud and Antoine Dupont combined brilliantly as Les Bleus ran in five tries against a brave Japanese side that never stopped attacking.

Sunday, 16 November 2025

Wales 21 – 27 South Africa (Principality Stadium, Cardiff)
The Springboks made it two wins from two on tour with a hard-fought victory in Cardiff. Siya Kolisi and Eben Etzebeth led by example as South Africa’s forwards wore down Wales. A late try from Cheslin Kolbe sealed the result in a tense finish.

Italy 28 – 25 Fiji (Stadio Olimpico, Rome)
Italy held on for a narrow win after a late Fijian surge almost turned the match around. The Azzurri’s defence in the final minutes kept Fiji from snatching a draw, marking another positive step for Italian rugby.

Weekend Summary & Key Talking Points

  • England’s resurgence: A tactical, physical display against the All Blacks signals England’s best performance under Steve Borthwick so far.

  • Southern hemisphere resilience: South Africa and Argentina both secured big away wins, continuing their strong form on European soil.

  • Ireland in control: Calm, efficient, and well-drilled — Ireland continue to look like the most complete northern hemisphere side.

  • France back on track: After a tough loss the previous weekend, France rediscovered their rhythm at home.

  • Italy building confidence: A tight win against Fiji shows growing consistency for a team often written off in past seasons.
