Hey everyone,
Let’s talk about food in Cape Town! What are your absolute favorites?

For me, the Gatsby is hands-down the king of street food here. Whether it’s steak, chicken, or just a slap of chips, it’s a must-try when you’re in the city. Bonus points if you can actually finish one on your own!

Then there’s bobotie—that Cape Malay classic with spiced mince and the egg topping. It’s one of those dishes that tastes like a hug in a bowl, especially when it’s paired with yellow rice.

Oh, and who hasn’t had a proper bunny chow? I know it’s technically from Durban, but the Cape Town versions are just as amazing—bread, curry, and all the comfort in the world.

Let’s not forget biltong and droëwors for the snack lovers, and a good braai with some juicy boerewors or snoek (and yes, snoek with apricot jam is an elite combo).

For dessert? You’ve got to love malva pudding or a spiced koesister coated in syrup and coconut.

What about you? What’s your go-to meal in Cape Town? Any hidden gems or places you swear by? Let’s hear it!

I will be your admin now.
